That awkward period between Christmas and New Year’s - that’s a planner’s dream. An uninterrupted few days of reflection, goal-setting, and leftover-eating. That’s exactly how I’ve spent the past week (and, admittedly, the first few days of January too), with the addition of a trip to Kew Gardens, a pilates class with friends and a spontaneous cinema date with my sister to watch the much-anticipated The Housemaid (highly recommend if you haven’t seen it yet - Sydney Sweeney is officially on my 2026 mood board as ab-inspo). And now, today, I’m feeling some very real Sunday blues as I prepare to head back into the office tomorrow.

I absolutely love a new year though. I get the same feeling from a Monday that falls on the first day of the month. That flavour of satisfaction sparks the joy I can only imagine Marie Kondo was talking about.

On my (overly ambitious) 2026 goal list is something I’ve wanted to do for ages: this newsletter.

As an avid journaler and a creative who loves to share, one pursuit that has both terrified and excited me has been putting my writing out there for strangers on the internet to read. Over the past year, I’ve poured some of my built-up (and slightly suppressed) creativity into Instagram and TikTok. It’s been so much fun to experiment with, but it lacks the detail and depth that only words can capture.

So, welcome. If you’re here, I’m so happy to have you and I really hope you stick around.

One thing about me and goal planning: if it’s not a SMART goal, it’s not a real goal around here. So the aim this year is one newsletter a week. Because consistency, and creating habits, is the only way any goal actually sticks.

Every Sunday, you can expect a newsletter delivered straight to your inbox from yours truly (and if you don’t, please hit reply and keep me accountable).

They won’t always be about glamorous trips or exciting adventures. This girl works a 9-5 job in the City of London to self-fund the globe-trotting persona you might see online. But trust me, I have an archive of adventures I love sharing whenever someone asks, “I’m going to X, do you have any recommendations?” If that’s a love language, it’s 100% mine!

In true Tahlia fashion, I’ve already impulsively booked my first trip for 2026, and full planning mode has officially begun. More on that very soon.

Thank you for being here. Truly.

You can also find me on Instagram and TikTok for everyday living and thoughtful adventures.

Tahlia
